Nasmedia Co., a digital media marketing subsidiary of KT Corp. (KRX: 030200; NYSE: KT), South Korea's largest telecommunications company, has set up a local entity in Thailand to accelerate its expansion in Southeast Asian markets.

Nasmedia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (KOSDAQ: 089600) will be launched on August 30 by South Korea's top digital advertising marketing agency. The new unit in Thailand will begin operations marketing on Facebook by using Nasmedia's specialized ad solution, ADfork.

"We are fully prepared to expand our business overseas after operating a special team over the past year to meet our clients' needs for global marketing," said Kim Byung-Jo, CEO of Nasmedia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and head of Nasmedia's Global Business Office. "Our Thai company will be our springboard for success in Southeast Asia, and eventually in all of Asia."

Nasmedia's ad solution ADfork, which is customized for Facebook, refines and classifies customer data to pinpoint high-value prospects, and maximizes the efficiency of ad campaigns. In recognition of ADfork's operational excellence, Facebook named Nasmedia its marketing partner in ad tech in June 2017.

Through its Thai entity, Nasmedia will also introduce its supply-side and demand-side mobile ad platforms, called AdMixer and Adpacker, respectively. AdMixer is Korea's largest ad exchange and it is based on real-time bidding (RTB), the buying and selling of online ad impressions through real-time auctions that happen nearly instantly. Adpacker uses billions of data points for effective audience targeting and re-targeting.

Nasmedia's Thai company will also be tasked with helping domestic game developers make inroads into Southeast Asian markets, taking advantage of its exclusively developed mobile app marketing platform, Nswitch. The platform has already proven to be efficient in assisting the marketing activities of major Korean game companies in Thailand and the region.

Nasmedia (Thailand) will participate in the Digital Advertising Association of Thailand (DAAT) Day 2018, the country's largest event for the digital communication industry, on August 30, as a major sponsor. It will introduce Nasmedia's platforms and marketing capability as well as business insights.

Thailand ranks eighth in the world in the number of active Facebook users, according to a 2018 report from We Are Social and Hootsuite. Bangkok has more active Facebook users than any other city in the world; its ratio of active Facebook users to population is 67 percent, compared to the global average of 39 percent. According to Newzoo's market intelligence, Thailand is also the largest game market in Southeast Asia, accounting for a 23 percent market share.

Since beginning in 2000 as Doubleclick Korea, Nasmedia has led South Korea's sprawling digital media market with outstanding expertise in online, mobile, IPTV, digital broadcasting and digital outdoor advertising solutions. The company was renamed Nasmedia in 2002, and joined KT Corp. in 2008. It was listed on the KOSDAQ, South Korea's tech-heavy secondary stock market, in 2013.
