First XCMG Hope Primary School Opens in Cameroon

XCMG, the world's leading construction machinery manufacturer, has opened the first XCMG Hope Primary School ("the School") in Aliete Yehombo village, Cameroon, bringing educational resources to the remote Nemeyong region of the African country.

The school is the latest project to be completed as a part of XCMG's international "Blue Dream" education program, which is a part of its "For A Better Life" global public welfare campaign which consists of 14 precisely positioned projects.

Tu Hui, director of marketing for Africa in XCMG's Excavator Machinery Business Department, remarked at an opening ceremony for the School that it is a place where children can grow and fulfill their dreams.

"We hope that the School will not only address the educational needs of local children, but also attract more companies and organizations to join our efforts and contribute to developing a stronger Sino-African friendship.

The School will benefit local children who have no access to education. 7-year-old Elijah, a student at the School, comes from a family of five children. He has spent his childhood working on his family's farm and selling bagged water to support them. Even though Elijah and his siblings have reached school age, they couldn't afford education.

When the School opened, Elijah was excited to attend classes like other children with his new textbooks and schoolbag. He said that he's grateful that XCMG has brought educational opportunities to his village, and that he will work hard towards his dream of working for XCMG in China when he grows up.

Committed to helping those in need and to shouldering more responsibilities, XCMG has completed a series of projects which include building 50 water cellars in Ethiopia to provide clean water, opening a Children's Home in Qingliang Village, Sichuan Province to support "left-behind" children, hosting the Global Excellent Operator program, and establishing international scholarships.

"XCMG will continue to carry out its mission to improve the lives of those in need through its public welfare projects, making tomorrow a better day for everyone," added Tu.
