          ในต้นยุคเอโดะ (ค.ศ.1603-1867) จังหวัดยามางาตะเจริญรุ่งเรืองในฐานะแหล่งปลูกดอกคำฝอยชั้นนำของญี่ปุ่น การขายดอกคำฝอยให้กับเกียวโตและโอซาก้ามีความสำคัญยิ่งต่อเศรษฐกิจของยามางาตะ โดยนำความมั่งคั่งและวัฒนธรรมคามิงาตะ (ญี่ปุ่นตะวันตก) อันดีงามมาสู่จังหวัด เช่น เสื้อผ้าย้อมสีดอกคำฝอย และตุ๊กตา "ฮินะ" เป็นต้น ว่ากันว่าในช่วงเวลานั้นดอกคำฝอยมีราคาสูงกว่าทองคำนับ 10 เท่า และมีราคาสูงกว่าข้าวนับ 100 เท่า

          ดอกคำฝอยคือดอกไม้มหัศจรรย์ โดยนอกจากจะนำไปทำลิปสติกและสีย้อมผ้าแล้ว ยังสามารถใช้ทำอาหารและปรุงยาจีนแผนโบราณได้ด้วย ดอกคำฝอยเป็นดอกไม้ประจำจังหวัดยามางาตะ และช่วงเวลาที่เหมาะสมกับการชมดอกคำฝอยที่สุดคือเดือนกรกฎาคม ทุ่งดอกคำฝอยที่เบ่งบานเต็มที่สวยสดงดงามจนได้รับการพรรณาในบทกวีของ "บาโช" กวีเอกยุคโบราณของญี่ปุ่น นอกจากนี้ ความมั่งคั่งที่ดอกคำฝอยนำมาสู่จังหวัดยามางาตะยังมีความผูกพันอย่างลึกซึ้งกับวัดยามาเดระ หนึ่งในสถานที่อันงดงามที่สุดของจังหวัดยามางาตะ

          Yamagata Prefecture in northeastern Japan has released two promotional videos. The first focuses on "Shojin Ryori"--traditional vegetarian cuisine passed down since antiquity--of the "Dewa Sanzan" (Three Mountains of Dewa) region--and the second introduces the story of safflowers--Yamagata's prefectural flower--and the picturesque "Yamadera" mountain temple.           1. About Dewa Sanzan Shojin Ryori

          Since long ago, worshippers of nature have practiced on these mountains in the Dewa region based on the belief that they can receive more of these gifts which purify their bodies; faith behind Shojin Ryori (ascetic vegetarian cuisine) that is one characteristic of Dewa Sanzan cuisine.

          2. About "Safflower Culture Supported by Yamadera Temple" story

          In the early Edo Period (1603-1867), Yamagata prospered as the top location in Japan that produced safflowers. The safflower trade to Kyoto and Osaka was a cornerstone of Yamagata's economic culture, bringing great wealth and magnificent Kamigata (western Japan) culture to the prefecture, such as safflower-dyed clothing and "Hina" dolls. At the time, the price of safflowers was said to be 10 times that of gold and 100 times that of rice.

          The safflower is a wondrous flower, used not only for lipsticks and dyes, but also in cooking and Chinese medicine. It is Yamagata Prefecture's symbolic flower, and the best time to see it is in July. The beauty of safflower fields in full bloom is so sweet that it was even noted in ancient master poet Basho's works. In addition, the prosperity that safflowers brought to Yamagata is deeply related to one of Yamagata's most picturesque locations, Yamadera.

NPCC ฉลองความสำเร็จหลังสร้างแท่นขุดเจาะน้ำมันนอกชายฝั่งใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกให้ ADNOC

         เชค ฮัซซา บิน ซายิด อัล นะห์ยาน รองประธานสภาผู้บริหารอาบูดาบี เป็นประธานเปิดแท่นขุดเจาะน้ำมันนอกชายฝั่งที่ใหญ่ที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของโลก ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ในสหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ โดยบริษัท National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) ในเครือ Senaat ได้สร้างแท่นขุดเจาะดังกล่าวให้กับบริษัท Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC)

NPCC Abu Dhabi Celebrates Completion of One of the World's Largest Offshore Oil Platforms for ADNOC

          His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, inaugurated one of the world's largest offshore oil platforms manufactured in the UAE by the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), a part of Senaat, for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

          The Umm Lulu Gas Treatment Platform (ULGTP) - weighing 32,000 metric tonnes (MT) and measuring 77.7 metres x 83.5 metres – nearly as tall as London's Big Ben, is one of five platforms manufactured by NPCC at its 1.3 million sqm fabrication yard in Abu Dhabi.

          This is part of an EPC contract awarded by ADNOC to NPCC, in consortium with TechnipFMC, for a large offshore super complex at the major Umm Lulu field. The total weight of the super complex is over 102,648 MT. The ULGTP will form a key part of the Umm Lulu Field infrastructure.

          HH Sheikh Hazza said the new milestone in the manufacturing and energy sectors is a model for the national industry, adding that the UAE leadership's vision and the committed efforts of Emirati talents are the driving force of this extraordinary achievement.

Venture Global LNG Raises $675 Million of Additional Capital

          Venture Global LNG, Inc. announces that it has raised $675 million of additional capital from world-class institutional investors. The capital will be used primarily for the further development of the company's 20 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Plaquemines LNG export project in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. In addition to the $855 million of capital previously raised at Venture Global LNG and the $1.3 billion project-level equity commitment from Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners for the company's Calcasieu Pass LNG project, Venture Global LNG has now raised total committed capital of over $2.8 billion to support the development of its LNG export facilities.

          Co-CEOs Mike Sabel and Bob Pender jointly stated, "With the expansion of our Plaquemines LNG sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with PGNiG to 2.5 MTPA and in anticipation of additional near-term commercialization, we are excited to add significant new resources as we prepare to commence early works at Plaquemines later this year."

          The 20 MTPA Plaquemines facility will employ a comprehensive process solution from Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) that utilizes highly efficient mid-scale, modular, factory-fabricated liquefaction trains in an identical configuration to its Calcasieu Pass LNG project, currently under construction in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The Final Order for Plaquemines LNG from the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is currently scheduled to be issued no later than August 1, 2019.

Fair Finance Asia calls upon G20 leaders to promote sustainable and responsible finance

          As the G20 Summit commences in Osaka today, Fair Finance Asia (a regional network of civil society organisations in Asia) calls on the G20 to strengthen its leadership and actions in implementing socially and environmentally sustainable finance and responsible investments.

          In line with the Civil 20 (C20) policy recommendations submitted to the leaders of the G20 in April this year, Fair Finance Asia (FFA) urges the leaders of these countries to boost policies and regulations, and bolster quality investments in a way that addresses climate change, helps achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inclusive economic development, and promotes human rights for all.

          G20 countries are also called upon to reiterate their commitments to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and promote due diligence and transparency in global financial chains.

          As infrastructure development becomes a key global priority, Fair Finance Asia welcomes the endorsement by the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in their June Communique' of the G20 Principles of Quality Infrastructure Investment as a common strategic direction. FFA seeks commitment and action from the G20 countries to lead the way in paving an enabling global policy environment that mandates financial institutions to immediately end their support for coal financing.

Saudi Aramco Signs 12 Agreements With South Korean Partners Worth Billions of Dollars

          - The agreements demonstrate Saudi Aramco's commitment to South Korea's energy security and development

          Saudi Aramco and its affiliates signed 12 agreements with major South Korean companies to reinforce relationships with South Korea, expand international operations, and support the region's energy security with the expansion of Arabian crude oil supply to Asian markets.

          Commenting on the agreements, Saudi Aramco President and CEO, Amin H. Nasser, said: "Only a few decades ago, Korean companies played a vital role in Saudi Aramco's upstream offshore growth development. Since then, they have moved into other sectors matching Saudi Aramco's diversification strategy.           The agreements are part of Saudi Aramco's long-term downstream growth and diversification strategy, which were signed with the following South Korean companies:

          Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI)

          An agreement between Saudi Aramco, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), and The Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company (Dussur). The agreement will establish a joint venture (JV) for a world class engine manufacturing and aftersales facility in Saudi Arabia. Under the partnership, Saudi Aramco will own 55% of the JV, while HHI and Dussur will own 30% and 15% respectively.
          An MoU between Saudi Aramco and HHI that extends the existing collaboration to develop ship building, engine manufacturing, refining, and petrochemicals.
          An agreement between Saudi Aramco and HHI to increase HHI's equity share in the International Maritime Industries (IMI) from 10% to 20%.
          An MoU between HHI, Bahri, and IMI (Joint Venture between Saudi Aramco, HHI, Lamprell, Bahri), covering ship building, and transportation as potential areas of cooperation.

          Korea National Oil Corporation

JA Solar Recognized as "Top Performer" in DNV GL/PVEL 2019 PV Module Reliability Scorecard for the Fourth Time

          The 2019 scorecard summarizes the results of PVEL's tests within an 18 month duration on module performance, including thermal cycling, damp heat, dynamic mechanical load sequence, and potential-induced degradation (PID). With its high-quality solar modules, JA Solar performed well in all tests and is recognized as "Top Performer" in all four test categories.
