          ในการทำสถิติใหม่ครั้งนี้ ทางกินเนสส์ เวิลด์ เรคคอร์ด ร่วมเยี่ยมชม Crystal Lagoon ขนาด 12.5 เฮกตาร์ ซึ่งเป็นจุดสนใจหลักของโครงการ Citystars Sharm El Sheikh สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวใจกลางทะเลทรายบริเวณพื้นที่ชายฝั่งที่หรูหราที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของอียิปต์ โดยโครงการดังกล่าวมีเงินลงทุนรวมกันถึง 5.5 พันล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ

          โครงการสุดยิ่งใหญ่นี้มีพื้นที่กว่า 750 เฮกตาร์ โดยมี Crystal Lagoon น้ำใสดุจคริสตัลกว่า 12 จุดคิดเป็นพื้นที่รวมกันราว 100 เฮกตาร์ โครงการนี้ถือกำเนิดขึ้นจากการร่วมทุนระหว่าง Crystal Lagoons และตระกูล Sharbatly ซึ่งเป็นตระกูลที่เก่าแก่และทรงอิทธิพลมากที่สุดตระกูลหนึ่งในตะวันออกกลางและแอฟริกา และมีบทบาทสำคัญในการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจของซาอุดิอาระเบีย

Crystal Lagoons Awarded Guinness World Record for "World's Largest Crystalline Lagoon"

          This time, the Guinness World Record goes to the 12.5-hectare Crystal Lagoon that is the main attraction of the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh tourist development. Located in the middle of the desert in one of Egypt's most luxurious coastal areas, the project has a total investment of $5.5 billion U.S. dollars.
