Honeywell Completes Acquisition of Research Chemicals Business from Sigma-Aldrich

Broadens Honeywell's research chemicals portfolio and expands global reach

Adds leading industry Fluka(R), Hydranal(R) and Chromasolv(R) brands to Honeywell portfolio, which already includes Riedel-de Haen(R) and Burdick & Jackson? brands

Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Seelze, Germany-based laboratory research chemicals business from Sigma-Aldrich, broadening Honeywell's offerings for high-purity solutions for drug discovery, medical diagnostic testing and other laboratory applications.

The acquisition includes the Fluka-branded solvents and inorganic chemistry portfolio worldwide and the Sigma-Aldrich-branded solvents and inorganic chemistry portfolio in the European Economic Area (EEA). Those offerings are now part of Honeywell's broader portfolio of offerings for research chemicals, which already includes the Riedel-de Haen(R) and Burdick & Jackson(R) brands.

"The combined Honeywell business will be able to serve a broader range of customers and applications with global brands recognized for world-class quality and lot-to-lot consistency - essential for a range of applications including drug synthesis, food, environmental, chemical and forensic testing," said Qamar Bhatia, president of Honeywell's Specialty Products business. "To make the transition process as seamless as possible, customers will still order products directly through Sigma-Aldrich and receive the same level of dedicated customer, technical and logistical support as they always have."

The Honeywell portfolio now includes six product lines:

          - Fluka(R) chemicals and reagents used for biochemical research and other chemical and pharmaceutical applications
          - Hydranal(R)  Karl Fischer titration reagents used by laboratories to measure moisture content in liquids and solids
          - Chromasolv(R) high-purity solvents for chromatography, a technique used to separate and analyze complex mixtures
          - Riedel-de Haen(R) high-quality research chemicals used in pharmaceutical production and bioscience
          - Burdick & Jackson(R) high-purity solvents, reagents and chromatography products for laboratories and pharmaceutical production
          - Sigma-Aldrich(R) solvents and inorganics sold into the European Economic Area

The acquired business employs approximately 200 people, primarily in Seelze, with sales and marketing personnel throughout Europe. Honeywell's Seelze plant, which manufactures Riedel-de Haen-branded products, currently makes the majority of the products in the acquired business.

The acquired business will be integrated into Honeywell's Fine Chemicals business and will continue to be led by the core leadership team of the acquired company. With two production sites, Seelze and Muskegon, Mich., in the U.S., the combined business unit will be able to develop and manufacture high-purity research chemicals and other materials used in new drug discovery, medical diagnostic testing and other laboratory applications.

With the addition of titration products, high-purity solvents and reagents, and specialty inorganic chemicals, Honeywell builds on an already strong portfolio of Burdick & Jackson and Riedel-de Haen products. Honeywell's Fine Chemicals business has supplied high-quality research chemicals and specialty organic and inorganic compounds to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for more than 100 years. Its products are sold under the Burdick & Jackson and Riedel-de Haen brands, and are used in a variety of laboratory, consumer and industrial applications including drug discovery, toothpaste, water purification, fortified foodstuffs, polymer synthesis, and metal surface treatment and finishing.

Honeywell Fine Chemicals is a part of the Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies business group.

Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) is a global leader in developing advanced materials, process technologies and automation solutions. PennTex Midstream Partners, LP Starts Second Honeywell UOP Russell Modular Gas Processing Plant

Processing under way of additional 200 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas

UOP LLC, a Honeywell (NYSE: HON) company, announced today that a new UOP Russell modular gas processing plant in northern Louisiana has begun processing rich natural gas and recovering valuable natural gas liquids (NGLs). This is the second turnkey UOP Russell plant commissioned by PennTex Midstream Partners, LP, capable of processing 200 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas. PennTex's first UOP Russell gas plant began operation in May 2015.

"Natural gas is on trend to become the world's second-largest source of energy by 2035, so the ability to process gas reserves profitably is critical to meet that growing demand," said John Gugel, vice president and general manager for Honeywell UOP's Gas Processing and Hydrogen business. "UOP Russell pre-engineered modular gas processing plants, coupled with a turnkey solution, help companies such as PennTex process gas and recover valuable NGLs faster than with stick-built plants, all with better quality and more attractive economics."

For both PennTex projects, Honeywell UOP supplied and installed modular cryogenic, dehydration, acid gas removal, and inlet/residue compression units, along with the control system, the flare system and site electrical equipment. Honeywell UOP also provided site utility systems and buildings for office, control room, motor control center and compressors.

"Over the past 18 months, our team has worked side by side with Honeywell UOP to complete these two projects in north Louisiana," said Tommy Stone, PennTex's chief engineering and operations officer. "Through this collaboration, PennTex has been able to meet the needs of our customers in a safe and efficient manner."

UOP Russell modular equipment can easily be shipped to remote locations. Modules fit together simply and efficiently, significantly reducing construction time and expense, and improving reliability after start-up. For repeat customers, the standardized modular approach drives greater ease of operation due to common parts, skid and installation layouts, and spares that simplify training, operations and maintenance. Watch a video on UOP Russell modular gas processing solutions.

UOP Russell modular equipment is one of the key technologies offered by Honeywell UOP's Gas Processing and Hydrogen business to treat and process natural gas. The company also offers a suite of related technologies such as Callidus flares, and technologies to remove contaminants from raw natural gas streams and to purify hydrogen used in refineries. The business has supplied technology to more than 3,600 individual process units for gas processing in a broad range of applications throughout the world. UOP also supplies modular equipment to the global refining and petrochemical industries.

In addition, Honeywell Process Solutions provides advanced automation, monitoring, and safety and security systems for the entire gas supply chain to help operators increase plant reliability and efficiency, while reducing costs and risk.

Based in Houston, Texas, PennTex Midstream Partners, LP (NASDAQ: PTXP) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning, operating, acquiring and developing midstream energy infrastructure assets in North America. PTXP provides natural gas gathering and processing, and residue gas and natural gas liquids transportation services to producers in the Terryville Complex in northern Louisiana.
