Iwate to Host PR Reception to Promote Its Farm, Forestry & Fishery Products, Tourism in Thailand Touting Attractive Foods and Production Areas



          The Iwate Prefectural Government and the Iwate Council for Export Promotion of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products invite media representatives to a public relations reception they will host in Bangkok on Thursday, December 14, 2017, to present "what is attractive about Iwate's foods and production areas." From now on, Japan is set to expand exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to Thailand, from which the number of visitors to Japan is expected to grow.

          Those wishing to attend the PR reception, sponsored by the Iwate Prefectural Government, are kindly requested to submit a reply letter, indicating the number and names of intended participants, to the Iwate Event Operations Office by Thursday, December 7.

          - Time & date: 18:00 - 20:00, Thursday, December 14, 2017.
            *The doors open at 17:45.
          - Venue: Dusit Thani Hall (946 Rama IV Road, Bangkok 10500)
          - Expected invitees: Japanese and Thai government representatives, officials in the distribution business (e.g. importers, restaurant officials and retailers in Thailand), tourism officials, people who have connections to the prefecture, media organizations, etc.
          - Organizer: Iwate Prefectural Government
          - Co-host: Iwate Council for Export Promotion of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products
          - Contents of the program:
          1. Seminar
          - Introducing the prefecture's agricultural, forestry and fishery products, foodstuffs and tourism resources.
          2. Food tasting and get-to-know-you session
          - Providing dishes using agricultural, forestry and fishery products and foodstuffs from Iwate.
            *Rice, apples, beef, seafood, Japanese sake and processed foods are scheduled to be available.
          - Traditional performing art (Morioka Sansa Dance), etc.
          - Participation fee: free

          Apart from those listed above, there will be a number of events scheduled to publicize the attractiveness of Iwate's foods and production areas.
