China Mobile International Limited (CMI) held a construction commencement ceremony for the launching of its Singapore data center. Mr. Wang Yunwei, Third Secretary of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Singapore,Mr. Koh Wee Sain, Director of Info-Communications and Media Development Authority of Singapore, Ms. Najiah Ramlee, Head of Infocomms & Media of Singapore Economic Development Board, Mr. Qian Liangzhong, Managing Director of China Construction (South Pacific) Development Co Pte Ltd., along with Dr. Li Feng, Chairman and CEO of China Mobile International Limited attended the opening ceremony to witness this important historical moment.
Singapore data center will be the second self-built data center in Asia Pacific after Hong Kong Global Network Center (GNC) and will also become one of the most significant network hub outside Mainland China. CMI currently owns the resources of three APAC submarine cable systems, the SJC, APG and SJC2, as well as Asia to Europe cable system SMW5, which will be landing in Singapore. CMI will continue to expand itsinvestment of submarine cable systems in Singapore, planning at least four other new submarine cable projects connecting with Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, America and Oceania. CMI's data center located in Singapore will coordinate with its other overseas data centers, together with its extensive global network resources to provide high speed connecting services including IPLC, IP Transit, voice, roaming, cloud computing and other one-stop communication solutions to global customers and partners.
Located in Singapore Dacheng Industrial Park, CMI's latest data center has a gross area of 7,330 sqm and a construction area of 15,174 sqm, with a total number of 2,100 racks. The data center will be equipped with cutting-edge high technology facilities such as low energy consumption batteries, new modular UPS devices, DC and AC power supply, dual piping design supporting CRAC cooling systems and water cooling systems. It is designed and operated according to the standards of international Tier III+ data center, achieving high efficiency, capabilities and scalability, and to become a world-class international communication hub.

The launch of Singapore Data Center responses to the enormous network demands of customers in Singapore and Asia-Pacific, thus supporting its development on Data Economy in the new era."

With the landing of the data center in Singapore, CMI will fully leverage its own GNC synergies and will achieve efficient convergence and agility of international traffic, providing global access to our customers with large bandwidth connectivity.
