This store will be DON DON DONKI's second outlet in the Thai capital of Bangkok after DONKI MALL THONGLOR which opened on February 22, 2019. The move is part of PPIH's strategy of operating a large number of stores in Southeast Asian countries under the concept of Japan brand specialty stores supplying high-quality Japanese goods at affordable prices. PPIH is known as the operator of major Japanese general discount store chain "Don Quijote."

The area where DON DON DONKI The Market will open is a major shopping district of Bangkok near Chit Lom Station which is bustling with local residents as well as tourists.

The new store will not only aim to attract its potential customers with Japanese cuisine, at which DON DON DONKI excels, but will also be selling Japanese sweets and cosmetic products that are popular as souvenirs. A wide variety of goods and toys that Don Quijote specializes in will also be available at DON DON DONKI The Market. The company is determined to create an exciting shopping experience for customers.

With four sections specializing in Japanese perishables -- vegetables/fruits, fish, meat and delicatessen -- DON DON DONKI The Market will have "live kitchens" where chefs will cook in front of customers to fully immerse them in the whole Japanese cuisine experience. There will also be seating areas within the store for customers to enjoy the food immediately.

At the vegetable/fruit section, DON DON DONKI's favorite baked sweet potatoes and fruit juice made using Japanese fruits will be served. As for the fish section, customers can enjoy freshly made sushi at the counter. Chefs will prepare and grill the fish selected by customers.

The meat and delicatessen section will be set up like food stalls where customers can casually enjoy a variety of Japanese food -- ranging from steak, "shabu shabu" (thin slices of beef or pork parboiled in hot soup together with vegetables), "kushiyaki" (spit-roasted meat), "ramen" noodle and "gyoza" dumplings to "oden" (vegetables, fish, dumplings and other articles stewed in hot soup), "karaage" (fried chicken) and "tempura" (Japanese deep-fried dishes).

As its first attempt, DON DON DONKI takes advantage of its diverse lineup of products, including those sold at Jonetsu Kakaku, its first shop in Southeast Asia specializing in its price-focused house brand to draw attention from local consumers.

The PPIH group is determined to steadily open its shops in Thailand while developing a new business style catering to local consumers and offer reasonable prices to gain longstanding patronage from local consumers.
