- Jungheinrich acquires majority interest in NTP Forklifts Australia, one of the country's leading material flow engineering dealerships
- Company founder Nick Perdelis remains important shareholder
- NTP Forklifts Australia will continue to operate as an independent brand as part of the Jungheinrich Group
Jungheinrich and NTP Forklifts Australia have forged a close, strategic partnership for the Australian market. To this end, Jungheinrich acquired a majority stake in NTP Forklifts Australia from the company's founders and owners Nick Perdelis and John Naffine. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. In Jungheinrich, NTP Forklifts Australia has found a strong industrial partner with which to promote and grow a dynamic and sustainable business well into the future. Nick Perdelis remains an important NTP shareholder and will be a member of a newly established Board of Directors of NTP, enabling him to continue being closely involved in the company's fortunes in the future as well.
Since 2008, NTP Forklifts Australia has been the exclusive partner for Jungheinrich products in Australia, one of the largest material handling equipment markets in the Asia-Pacific region. By taking the majority stake, Jungheinrich is continuing to resolutely enlarge its global footprint in the direct sales business. "By leveraging from Jungheinrich's industrial management, we will expand NTP's business with Jungheinrich products in the Australian market significantly and continue to strengthen our position in the Asia-Pacific region," says Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG.
Headquartered in Adelaide, NTP Forklifts Australia is represented with branch offices in all of Australia's major regions. Besides Jungheinrich, NTP sells Manitou, TCM, Kalmar and Taylor-Dunn branded products. Current business with these brands is not only to be continued under the new ownership structure, but to be further expanded. "In Jungheinrich, NTP has found a strong partner with which we can make our business fit for the future and generate further growth," says company founder Nick Perdelis.
NTP currently employs over 230 staff across six key locations. NTP Forklifts Australia's existing management shall remain in place headed by both Damien Garvey and Jason Perdelis, with Jungheinrich as majority shareholder. NTP Forklifts Australia will continue to operate as an independent brand as part of the Jungheinrich Group.
