Experience Asia's First State-of-the-art Smartphone-based myPORT Technology

           - The innovative myPORT mobile app gives users a whole new way of transiting through the premier building, with more security, comfort and freedom.

Schindler, a leading global elevator and escalator company, today announced the installation of its groundbreaking myPORT mobile application at MD Place in Jakarta, Indonesia. The upgrade to the building's elevator and transit management system now offers users a world-class level of building navigation.

MD Place is a premium office for the country's leading multimedia and television company MD Corp. The building with its remarkable prismatic facade contains Schindler's elevators and groundbreaking PORT Technology transit management system.

myPORT is an intuitive smartphone-based application for personal mobility, and an extended feature of the PORT Technology -- Schindler's third generation Destination Control System.

As soon as an occupant enters the building, myPORT detects his smartphone and activates a four-step "e-banking level" security check to verify his credential and access level. The occupant simply unlocks his smartphone and presents it to a PORT terminal, and a Schindler elevator would then be automatically assigned to take him to his floor. Once access to the building is granted, there is a very high degree of confidence that the owner of the smartphone has the right to be there. From that moment, doors can be automatically opened, pre-programmed elevators assigned and life in general made much more convenient, all without taking the smartphone from one's pocket.

"Users now have more freedom and convenience than ever before, while building owners have greater access control and higher security standards," said Calynn Tan, Transit Technologies Director for Jardine Schindler Group. "For visitors who don't have the app installed, myPORT users can grant them temporary building access through generating an SMS message linking to a unique video access code. Visitors can simply show this code to the PORT terminal in order to gain entry," she said.

"We are very proud to partner with MD Place to successfully implement the revolutionary myPORT technology in the building," said Willis Phua, President Director of PT Berca Schindler Lifts. "As the lives of office workers in burgeoning cities like Jakarta continue to become busier and more complex, we are always developing ways to keep these environments running smoothly, which is what myPORT is all about. We look forward to seeing its unique benefits in action in Indonesia, bringing a welcoming and secure environment to occupants and visitors," he said.

"myPORT's e-banking level authentication meets the highest international standards of security to make users feel comfortable," said Manoj Punjabi, owner of MD Place, and Producer/CEO of MD Corp. "It also makes moving around the building fast and easy, without having to lift a finger."

PT. Berca Schindler Lifts -- the home of Schindler in Indonesia
