HOT 97 SUMMER JAM Partners with Avex Live Creative for SUMMER JAM TOKYO

          WQHT HOT 97 FM, the #1 station for Hip Hop and R&B, announced on March 30 a monumental expansion of the HOT 97 SUMMER JAM brand, bringing the biggest Hip Hop festival to Tokyo in July 2016. As the first country outside of the United States, Japan has tied a license agreement with HOT 97. The multi-year partnership is between Japan-based Avex Live Creative, a premier live entertainment and production company, a division of Avex Group Holdings, and Trevanna Entertainment, the production team behind HOT 97 SUMMER JAM in New York.

         

          HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO is an extraordinary example of the strength HOT 97 and Hip Hop culture hold throughout the world, transcending beyond radio and music and into an experience for the audience. The opportunity to bring such a substantial event of this magnitude to Japan this year aligns with not only the influx of Hip Hop into Japanese culture, but also the continuous rise in tourism Tokyo has experienced over the past few years. HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO will provide travelers, as well as locals, especially millennials, a new adventure in a country rich with history and tradition. With Japan as its base, HOT 97 SUMMER JAM plans on expanding to the Asia-Pacific region.

          What is HOT 97 SUMMER JAM?
          New York's biggest Hip Hop festival hosted by HOT 97, New York's most influential Hip Hop radio station. The festival attracts local New Yorkers and consumers who embrace Hip Hop culture from all over the world, and is home to award-winning artists, HOT 97 deejays -- the top artists of the scene. The festival started in 1994 and has 20 years of history, quickly selling out 50,000 tickets every year. As the first country in the world outside of the United States, Japan is hosting HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO in 2016.

          HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO 2016 will take place Friday, July 29, 2016, at ZEPP TOKYO. The line-up, which will not only include some of the hottest names in Hip Hop known throughout the world, but also the biggest Hip Hop acts in Japan, will be announced at a later date.
