The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, both Korean government agencies, will hold an online conference as part of the "2020 Project of Supporting Korean Ed-Tech Overseas Expansion" on 2-3 November.
18 Korean ed-tech companies were chosen out of a competitive field of applicants to participate in the conference. The chosen companies are expected to garner much domestic and international interest thanks to their educational quality and services.
Many of the participants have a proven track record thanks to their already signed MOUs with overseas companies and organizations. Genie Robot, for example, signed an exclusive contract and MOU with UAE KBBO Group in December 2019. They also signed an exclusive contract with certain European countries in January and October 2020, as well as an additional sales contract with Edu-Sense of Poland in January 2020.
Another participant, Visang Education supplies their childhood English program "Wings" to more than 400 of the largest education institutions in China. Since 2019, they have exported education services to "engels" and "EMA". They further plan to supply an English program for elementary/ junior high school students in 60 education centers in Vietnam. Beyond that, they provided KLaSS (KOREAN LANGUAGE SMART SOLUTION) to the Department of Korean Language at the University of Korea-Vietnam Industrial Technology to expand exports to Southeast Asia.
JH Educon, a coding education company, signed a supply contract of approx. $1 million with Smart Robot Coding School in Malaysia and Singapore named "the World of Robotics". They also cooperated with the Indonesian World of Robotics in 2019, and signed a contract of approx. $150,000 in Myanmar in 2018. Furthermore, they signed a contract with Iptikar, a demonstration school established by the Ministry of Education of the Smart Robot Coding School in the UAE in March 2019.
In addition to this, 15 other Ed-Tech companies with strong reputations are also looking forward to participating at the "2020 Project of Supporting Korean Ed-Tech Overseas Expansion" online conference.
