The banquet offers a new opportunity for cultural exchanges between China and the United States
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Seattle on September 22nd. The same evening Xi attended the welcome banquet hosted by National Committee on United States-China Relations and delivered his only public policy speech of his U.S. visit. Perfect World CEO and director at the National Committee on United States-China Relations Robert Hong Xiao, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, together with several other companies executives and private individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the development of the Sino-America relations, had accepted the invitation and taken part in the banquet.
After listening to President Xi's speech, the Perfect World CEO said that the firm has been actively promoting the communication and integration of Chinese culture in particular and the world's many cultures in general since its inception. Now that the American and Chinese cultures have become two of the world's mainstream cultures, the two sides' efforts at cultural exchange is of great significance for both countries and the world.
As an international Internet-based cultural entertainment firm, Perfect World is ready and willing to shoulder its responsibility. The company is pleased to be the practitioner and the driver of cultural exchanges between China and the United States and to continue to make contributions in this area. The CEO further explained that Perfect World has been using the games as a medium to promote and give a global presence to Chinese culture from the day the firm opened its doors for business. Today, Perfect World's products have found their way into over 100 countries and regions. The game developer has set up branches in North America and in other locales worldwide as well as acquired locally renowned workshops in many countries in a move to build a localized research and development and operating platform, further contributing to the communication and integration of Chinese and American cultures.
In recent years, Perfect World has undertaken great efforts in expanding exchanges and cooperation with the United States in the field of humanities. At the end of 2014, Perfect World gave its full support to a Sino-US project named Access China, a flagship youth exchange flagship project between the two countries. Early in 2015, the firm proudly launched the Global Youth Leadership Laboratory project.
